Delicious Baked Italian Sub Sandwich Recipe | Easy & Flavorful Italian Subs

This baked Italian sub sandwich is loaded with layers of savory deli meats, melty provolone, tangy banana peppers, and zesty Italian dressing—all toasted in a crusty roll. It’s an easy, mouthwatering dinner or game-day crowd-pleaser!

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 subs 1x

Ingredients

Scale

4 hoagie or sub rolls

1/4 cup butter, melted

1 tsp Italian seasoning

8 slices Genoa salami

8 slices deli ham

8 slices pepperoni

4 slices provolone cheese

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/4 cup sliced banana peppers

1/4 small red onion, thinly sliced

1/4 cup Italian dressing

Shredded lettuce and tomato slices (optional, for topping after baking)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with foil.

2. Split hoagie rolls without cutting all the way through. Mix melted butter and Italian seasoning, then brush inside rolls.

3. Layer salami, ham, pepperoni, provolone, mozzarella, banana peppers, and red onion into each roll.

4. Drizzle each sandwich with Italian dressing.

5. Wrap each sandwich loosely in foil and bake for 12–15 minutes, until hot and cheese is melted.

6. Unwrap, optionally add lettuce and tomato, then serve immediately.

Notes

• Add giardiniera or olives for a bold, briny kick.

• Use turkey or capicola for meat variation.

• These make great meal prep sandwiches—wrap and refrigerate before baking.
