Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite)
1 cup shredded cheddar or Colby Jack cheese
6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1/2 tsp garlic powder
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 tbsp olive oil (for searing, optional)
Chopped green onions or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. Season chicken with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. (Optional: Sear in olive oil 2–3 mins per side for extra flavor.)
3. Place chicken in baking dish and spread barbecue sauce over each piece.
4. Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through.
5. Remove from oven and top each chicken breast with cheese and bacon.
6. Return to oven and bake another 5–7 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
7. Garnish with green onions or parsley and serve hot.
Notes
Use pre-cooked bacon or microwave it for a quicker prep.
Swap cheddar with pepper jack or gouda for a flavor twist.
Pairs well with mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, or a fresh salad.
