Ingredients
🟡 For the Salad:
1 head iceberg lettuce, chopped
1 cup frozen peas, thawed
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion
6 slices cooked bacon, chopped
1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved (optional)
🟡 For the Dressing:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sour cream
1 tbsp white vinegar or lemon juice
1 tsp sugar
Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
1. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper until smooth. Set aside.
2. In a large serving bowl or trifle dish, layer chopped lettuce on the bottom.
3. Top evenly with red onions, peas, cherry tomatoes (if using), shredded cheddar, and chopped bacon.
4. Spoon or spread the dressing gently over the top layer without stirring.
5. Cover and chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour before serving.
6. Toss just before serving, or let guests scoop through the layers.
Notes
Make it ahead—this salad holds well for up to 8 hours before serving.
Use Greek yogurt in place of sour cream for a lighter option.
Swap in green onions, hard-boiled eggs, or cauliflower for extra texture and flavor.
