Crispy Beef with Spicy Saucy Noodles

This crispy beef with spicy saucy noodles is bold, addictive, and full of fiery flavor. Thin slices of beef are fried until golden and tossed with chewy noodles and a savory-spicy sauce. It’s the ultimate Asian-inspired stir-fry for spice lovers!

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

🟑 For the Crispy Beef:

1 lb flank or sirloin steak, thinly sliced against the grain

1/4 cup cornstarch

Salt & pepper to taste

Oil for frying

🟑 For the Noodles:

8 oz wide rice noodles or lo mein noodles

1 tbsp sesame oil

🟑 For the Spicy Sauce:

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tbsp hoisin sauce

1 tbsp rice vinegar

1 tbsp chili garlic sauce or sambal oelek

1 tbsp brown sugar

1 tsp toasted sesame oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp grated ginger

🟑 Garnish (optional):

Green onions, sesame seeds, crushed red pepper

Instructions

1. Cook noodles according to package instructions. Drain and toss with 1 tbsp sesame oil to prevent sticking. Set aside.

2. Pat steak slices dry and season with salt and pepper. Toss in cornstarch until well coated.

3. Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Fry beef in batches for 2–3 minutes per side until crispy and browned. Transfer to a plate.

4. In the same pan, drain excess oil, leaving about 1 tbsp. Add garlic and ginger, sautΓ© for 30 seconds.

5. Pour in sauce ingredients: soy sauce, hoisin, rice vinegar, chili garlic sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil. Stir and simmer for 1 minute.

6. Add noodles and toss to coat. Add crispy beef back in and stir everything together until hot and coated in sauce.

7. Garnish with green onions, sesame seeds, or chili flakes if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use pre-cooked beef strips to save time, but fresh thinly sliced steak yields the best crispiness.

Adjust spice level by using less chili sauce or adding honey to balance heat.

Leftovers reheat well in a skillet or microwave with a splash of water.
