Ingredients
8 slices white bread (trimmed crusts)
8 oz raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 green onions, chopped
1 egg white
1 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
1/4 tsp ground white pepper
1/4 tsp sugar
1 tbsp cornstarch
2 tbsp mayonnaise (optional, for creamier texture)
Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
Neutral oil, for frying
Instructions
1. In a food processor, pulse shrimp, garlic, green onions, egg white, soy sauce, sesame oil, pepper, sugar, cornstarch, and mayo (if using) until it becomes a smooth paste.
2. Spread 1–2 tablespoons of shrimp mixture evenly onto each slice of bread.
3. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
4. Cut each slice into triangles or quarters for easier serving.
5. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry shrimp side down for 2–3 minutes, then flip and toast bread side until golden.
6. Alternatively, air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 6–8 minutes until crispy.
7. Drain on paper towels and serve warm with sweet chili sauce or soy dip.
Notes
• You can use a mix of shrimp and crab meat for extra flavor.
• Air fryer version reduces oil but still delivers crunch.
• Serve immediately—shrimp toast is best hot and crispy.
