Ingredients
For the brownies:
1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup water
1/4 cup cocoa powder
2 cups granulated sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 large eggs
1/2 cup sour cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
For the frosting:
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup cocoa powder
3½ cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a large baking sheet or jelly roll pan.
2. In a saucepan, melt butter with water and cocoa powder, stirring until smooth.
3. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, flour, and salt until combined.
4. Add eggs, sour cream, and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
5. Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
6. Bake for 20–22 minutes until set but still fudgy.
7. While brownies bake, melt butter, milk, and cocoa powder for the frosting.
8. Remove from heat and whisk in powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth.
9. Pour frosting over warm brownies and spread evenly.
10. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.

• Frost brownies while hot for best results.
