Ingredients
🥧 Almond Tart Crust:
1 1/2 cups almond flour
2 tbsp coconut flour
3 tbsp maple syrup or honey
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup melted butter or coconut oil
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
🍏 Apple Filling:
2–3 medium apples (Honeycrisp or Fuji), thinly sliced
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp maple syrup
1/2 tsp cinnamon
🍮 Caramel Drizzle:
1/2 cup coconut sugar or brown sugar
2 tbsp butter or ghee
2 tbsp coconut cream or heavy cream
Pinch of salt
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch tart pan or pie dish.
2. In a bowl, mix almond flour, coconut flour, maple syrup, salt, melted butter, and vanilla until a dough forms.
3. Press the dough evenly into the bottom and sides of the pan. Prick the base with a fork.
4. Bake crust for 10 minutes. Remove and let cool slightly.
5. Toss apple slices with lemon juice, maple syrup, and cinnamon.
6. Arrange apples over the crust in overlapping layers.
7. Return to oven and bake for 25–30 minutes until apples are tender and edges are golden.
8. Meanwhile, make caramel: In a saucepan, heat sugar and butter over medium heat until melted.
9. Stir in cream and salt. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
10. Drizzle caramel over tart before serving or serve on the side.
11. Serve warm or at room temperature with whipped cream or ice cream.
