Ingredients
For the Beef:
300 g thinly sliced beef
1 small onion (sliced)
For the Sauce:
1/2 cup beef broth
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon mirin (or sugar substitute)
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon grated ginger
For Serving:
2 cups cooked white rice
Optional:
Soft cooked egg
Green onions
Pickled ginger
Instructions
1. In a pan, combine beef broth, soy sauce, mirin, sugar, and ginger.
2. Add sliced onions and simmer for 3–4 minutes until soft.
3. Add thinly sliced beef and cook until tender.
4. Simmer for a few minutes until flavors combine.
5. Serve hot over a bowl of steamed rice.
6. Top with soft egg, green onions, or pickled ginger if desired.
Notes
Use very thinly sliced beef for best texture.
Do not overcook beef to keep it tender.
Adjust sweetness to taste.
Serve immediately for best flavor.
