Ingredients
450 g kielbasa sausage, sliced
700 g sauerkraut, drained and rinsed lightly
1 small onion, sliced
1 tbsp olive oil or butter
1/2 tsp caraway seeds (optional)
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 cup chicken broth or water
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet or pot over medium heat.
2. Add sliced kielbasa and brown on both sides.
3. Add sliced onion and cook until softened.
4. Stir in sauerkraut, caraway seeds, and black pepper.
5. Pour in broth or water and mix gently.
6. Cover and simmer on low heat for 25–30 minutes.
7. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
8. Serve hot.
Notes
• Serve with mashed potatoes or crusty bread.
• Add a pinch of sugar if you prefer milder sauerkraut.
• Leftovers reheat beautifully and taste even better the next day.
