Ingredients
For the Jambalaya:
200 g shrimp (peeled and deveined)
200 g smoked sausage (sliced)
1 cup rice
2 cups chicken broth
1 can diced tomatoes
1 onion (chopped)
1 bell pepper (chopped)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
1/2 teaspoon paprika
Optional:
Green onions
Parsley
Hot sauce
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
2. Cook sausage until browned, then remove and set aside.
3. In the same pot, sauté onion, bell pepper, and garlic until soft.
4. Add rice, diced tomatoes, chicken broth, Cajun seasoning, and paprika.
5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
6. Add shrimp and cooked sausage.
7. Cook for 5 minutes until shrimp are pink and rice is tender.
8. Garnish with green onions or parsley and serve hot.
Notes
Do not overcook shrimp.
Adjust Cajun seasoning for spice level.
Use smoked sausage for best flavor.
Let rest for a few minutes before serving.
