Ingredients
For the Bread Pudding:
4 cups cubed bread (day-old)
1/2 cup chopped pecans
2 cups milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon cinnamon
For the Bourbon Sauce:
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons bourbon
Optional:
Whipped cream
Extra pecans
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
2. Place bread cubes in a baking dish and sprinkle with pecans.
3. In a bowl, whisk milk, cream, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and cinnamon.
4. Pour mixture over bread and let soak for 10 minutes.
5. Bake for 35–40 minutes until set and golden.
6. In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar.
7. Add cream and bourbon, simmer until smooth.
8. Pour warm sauce over bread pudding.
9. Serve warm with whipped cream if desired.
Notes
Use slightly stale bread for best texture.
Adjust bourbon amount to taste.
Serve warm for best flavor.
Store leftovers in fridge up to 3 days.
