Ingredients
1 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 1/4 tsp (1 packet) instant yeast
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 tsp salt
1 large egg
3 1/2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tbsp melted butter (for brushing tops)
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, whisk warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
2. Add melted butter, salt, and egg. Mix well.
3. Gradually stir in 3 1/2 cups of flour until a soft dough forms.
4. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead for 5–6 minutes until smooth. Add more flour if needed.
5. Divide into 8–10 equal pieces and shape into balls. Place on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet.
6. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 25–30 minutes until puffy.
7. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
8. Bake rolls for 15–18 minutes or until golden brown on top.
9. Brush warm rolls with melted butter and serve.
Notes
Use bread flour for even fluffier texture.
Add garlic powder or herbs to the dough for savory flavor.
These rolls freeze well—cool completely, wrap, and freeze up to 2 months.
