Ingredients
1 1/2 lbs beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
2 tbsp cornstarch
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
1/4 cup beef broth
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp sesame oil (or vegetable oil)
1 tbsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
1 yellow onion, sliced
Optional: green onions, sesame seeds for garnish
Cooked rice or noodles for serving
Instructions
1. Add sliced steak and cornstarch to a large zip-top bag. Shake to coat evenly.
2. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, broth, brown sugar, sesame oil, vinegar, garlic, ginger, and black pepper.
3. Place coated steak in the slow cooker. Pour sauce mixture over the top.
4. Add bell peppers and onion.
5. Cover and cook on LOW for 5–6 hours or HIGH for 2.5–3 hours, until beef is tender.
6. Serve hot over cooked rice or noodles. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
Slice steak thinly against the grain for tenderness.
Add red pepper flakes or sriracha if you like it spicy.
