Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 oz cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, beat together butter and cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
2. Add brown sugar and granulated sugar. Beat until light and fluffy.
3. Mix in egg and vanilla extract until combined.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix just until combined.
6. Fold in chocolate chips. Cover dough and chill for 30–60 minutes.
7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
8. Scoop dough into 1.5 tbsp balls and place 2 inches apart.
9. Bake for 9–11 minutes, or until edges are set and centers look slightly underdone.
10. Let cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
Chilling the dough enhances flavor and prevents spreading.
Substitute half the chocolate chips with chunks or white chocolate for variation.
Store in an airtight container up to 5 days or freeze for longer shelf life.
